Personalized Luftwaffe Non Take-Down Gravity Knife.Paul Weyersberg, Solingen, sword within wreath double-oval TM. This Weyersberg example was recently obtained from the estate of Illinois WWII veteran Andy Supp. Nickel-plated fittings, to include end cap and grip spine, show light surface wear with no lifting or pitting to the plating. Blade spring mechanism is stamped "274" over "5" with the base of the spike Waffen Amt stamped. Medium brown, nicely grained wooden grip plates show minor surface, but no cracks or chips and are complete with eight retaining rivets. Both the obverse and reverse grip plates are personalized with the name, "SUPP" scratched into the wooden surface. The obverse plate also has the letters, "CH" scratched into the surface. (possibly the initials of the original German Fallschirmjäger owner). Polished blade grades EX++ retaining portions of the cross graining with surface wear/runner marks and some minor scratches, but no sharpening to the cutting edge. Reverse blade is marked, "Rostfrei". Knife is complete with undamaged nickel-plated lanyard ring. Nice personalized Weyersberg example. EX+/EX++ (26062) $945. SOLD
