Model Luftwaffe Dagger w/Portepee. Ernst Pack
& Söhne M-B-H Waffenfabrik, Solingen, large
Siegfried wielding hammer, Siegfried Waffen TM.
This textbook Pack example features the airplane-gray
hilt fittings and factory darkened scabbard with
superb detail to the suspension bands as pictured
on page 217 of Exploring The Dress Daggers of the
German Luftwaffe by Thomas T. Wittmann. The pommel
features the pebbled pattern tapped into the areas
between the two circles surrounding the swastika
as pictured on page 139 of above reference. The
light yellow solid celluloid grip shows light surface
wear with one small chip on the upper obverse adjacent
to the pommel, but no cracks and no damage to the
tiny 1/8" hairline crack on lower obverse and
two spots of wear to the center reverse but no chips
or damage to the tight springy type aluminum wire
wrap. Plated mirror finish blade grades EX+ showing
light surface wear/runner marks on flats of blade,
minor gray shadowing/speckling and one tiny nick
on the lower left cutting edge, but no pitting or
lifting. Blade is complete with original black leather
buffer pad. Dent-free, uncleaned silver plated scabbard
features dark, nearly black, age patina throughout
which matches the dark hilt fittings perfectly.
The original 23cm portepee grades EX+ showing light
wear/age with minor fraying to slide and upper stem.
EX+/EX++(26205) $1,150.
