Red
Cross EM Hewer w/Frog. No maker. Nickel-plated
hilt fittings show only light surface wear with
much darkened factory lacquer remaining throughout
and with well detailed Red Cross emblem on obverse
langet. Black bakelite grip plates are perfect with
no cracks or chips. Polished, double sawtooth blade
grades Near MINT showing only minor runner marks
with no pitting or nicks to the cutting edge. Reverse
ricasso was stamped, "Ges.Geschutzt" and
is complete with tan leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free
steel scabbard retains approximately 99% of the
original black enamel showing only minor surface
crazing. Nickel-plated scabbard fittings retain
much of the original factory lacquer with speckling
or lifting. Scabbard screws appear unturned. Hewer
is complete with original 4-rivet triple-stitched
leather frog in excellent++/Near MINT condition
showing only minor surface wear with no rips or
tears or damage to the stitching, with upper reverse
frog stamped "B". Nice example recently
obtained in Germany. EX++/Near MINT (25769) $1,250.
