Red Cross [Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK)]
The
German Red Cross Agency was organized under the Reich Ministry
of the Interior and was a nationally recognized volunteer
organization with the mission of assisting in civil disasters.
Although the members, both male and female, were on a non-salaried
basis, they were supervised by a full-time cadre of uniformed
salaried leaders. The DRK incorporated the omnipresent eagle
and swastika with the International Red Cross symbol in
the design of their own distinctive insignia. For more information
