This Royal Hunting piece was the personal Hirschfanger
of Duke Carl Edward, the ruler of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha
(1900-1918). Massive double-engraved blade features
a unique wave-like spine with a presentation date
of "1872". Comes with its original massive over-the-shoulder
baldric, which was worn outside of the hunting outfit.

scenes with a boar, hunting dogs, elk on both obverse
and reverse. Scabbard is most unusual with a very
ornate upper fitting featuring a convex boar's head
which protrudes from the fitting and acts as a frog
lug. The definition to this boar's head is exceptional.
