Naval Dagger w/Retailer's Mark & Lightening
Bolt Scabbard. No maker TM. See pages 76 - 80

dagger and scabbard. Brass hilt fittings show light
surface wear/age patina to the threaded type flaming
ball/"waves" pommel and crossguard with
fouled anchor motif on the obverse/reverse quillon
block. Black bone grip shows light surface wear
with age striations/hairline cracks with minor loss
of color on the reverse, but no chips and is complete
with tight twisted brass wire wrap. Polished, double-etched,
double-fullered blade measuring 9 ¼"
in length grades EX/EX+ showing light surface wear
and minor speckling with one tiny nick on the upper
left cutting edge and is complete with a black leather
blade buffer pad. The lightly, double-etched fouled
anchor and sailing motif shows minor wear and ricasso
spine is retailer marked, "A. Lüneburg
Kiel". Thebrass, hammered scabbard shows light
surface wear with several small depressions to the
obverse/reverse shell, and is complete with reef
knot suspension bands. The scabbard throat is retained
by two dome head screws. Nice original piece recently
obtained in Germany. EX+ (25654) $2,495.
