Personalized Damascus Imperial Naval Sword. WK&C TM. Beautiful quality sword showing much of the fire gilting to the hilt and crossguard featuring green and red eyes. Solid ivory handle showing age lines only running down each side and has its triple gilted wire wrap intact. Reverse locking flange has the original owner's name beautifully jeweler engraved, "Leyffarett". Lovely "maiden-hair" Damascus blade is in excellent++ condition with only a few very small dark spots, which should clean out. Has its red felt buffer pad intact. Scabbard leather is exceptional considering its age. In fact, scabbard would grade MINT if not for a couple of very minor dings on the lower fitting. Unique hammered fittings are routed with lines running across. Center band also has crescent shaped, routed lines. All scabbard rings are hammered. All staples are present on the reverse scabbard. Sword comes with the sword owner's cap tally ribbon, which has in gilt, "Linienschiff Hessen". These ribbons were sewn to the caps to identify the ship that the individual was serving on.
