Third Reich Fire Official Sword w/Double-Etched Blade. WKC (knight head) TM. Gilted brass hilt fittings show light wear/age patina with traces of gilting remaining in the lion head pommel w/red eyes, oak leaf motif on knuckle-bow, and lion head crossguard quillion. Pinned to the obverse langet is a silver Fire Department emblem consisting of crossed fire axes surmounted by a fire helmet. Black celluloid grip shows surface wear with one chip adjacent to the lion head pommel. Double-etched plated blade measuring 34-1/4” in length grades excellent+, showing light surface wear and some light gray shadowing to both obverse and reverse. Obverse blade features raised etched floral/militaria motif, with a center design of firefighting equipment, to include ladder, hose, fire axe and fire helmet with swastika! Reverse blade features a raised floral/fire equipment etched motif with. 100% of background frosting remains on both obverse and reverse. Nickel-plated scabbard shows surface wear and some crazing to the plating, with one faint depression on the upper reverse.
