Presentation Third Reich Fire Official Sword. WKC (knight's helmet) TM. An illustration and description of this sword appear in the WKC sales catalog as Pattern Nr. 118 (Glatter Feuerwehr-Offizier Säbel). Plain gilted brass hilt shows only minor surface wear with some small areas of age darkening/oxidation. Black celluloid grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and complete with tight twisted triple brass wire wrap. Plated blade measuring 30 5/8" in length grades excellent++/Near MINT, showing only minor runner marks and a few specks of graying. Blade is complete with brown leather blade buffer pad with obverse jeweler-engraved in block letters, "In Anerkennung Feuerwehr Hohenerxleben 1938" (in recognition of Fire Department Hohenerxleben 1938). Hohenerxleben is located south of Magdeburg. Dent-free steel scabbard retains 100% of its professionally repainted black enamel. Sword is complete with Fire Official sword knot in excellent++ condition, showing only light wear to the leather strap, with three silver lines and silver/carmine crown/acorn with carmine acorn insert.
