Luftwaffe Sword w/Hanger.SMF, seated king TM. This nice aluminum example was recently obtained in the NW United States after being in storage for over thirty years. Frosted aluminum hilt fittings show faint wear to pommel and crossguard, with virtually 100% the gold wash remaining on pommel and crossguard swastikas, with minor loss only to the obverse crossguard swastika. Blue leather grip shows minor surface wear, but no nicks or tears, and is complete with tight double aluminum wire wrap. Plated blade measuring 28 ¼" in length grades EX++, showing light surface wear/runner marks with some minor gray shadowing/speckling, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges. Reverse blade is Waffen-Amt stamped and is complete with blue leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free scabbard shows two small "rub" spots on obverse shell, (possibly occurred during storage) and two small cuts on upper reverse, but no rips or tears to the blue leather which matches the grip leather perfectly. Dent-free, upper and lower aluminum scabbard fittings grade Near MINT, with virtually 100% of the frosting remaining, and are complete with all four, undamaged retaining screws.
