Prison Official's Sword w/Double-Trademark. "Z"
inside a shield surmounted by a crown (obverse)
and Clemen & Jung above Solingen (reverse) double-TM.

99 of The Sword And Knife Makers Of Germany 1850-2000
Volume 1 by the late Anthony Carter. Photographs
of this pattern Clemen & Jung sword appear on
page 263 of Swords of Germany 1900/1945 by John
R. Angolia. Gilded aluminum hilt fittings retain
approximately 99% of the rich honey-gold wash sowing
only faint wear to the brow of the stylized eagle
head with superb detail to the feathering on the
backstrap and knuckle-bow. The crossguard features
matching obverse/reverse langets comprised of large
open-winged eagles/swastikas on a stippled background
within heavy raised borders. Black enameled, simulated
celluloid grip shows light surface wear to enamel,
and is complete with tight triple twisted silver
wire wrap. Plated blade measuring 29 ¾"
in length grades EX++, showing only minor surface
wear/runner marks primarily to the lower blade but,
no shadowing, lifting, pitting or nicks to cutting
edge and is with original black leather buffer pad.
Dent-free scabbard retains approximately 95% of
the original black enamel showing minor surface
wear/crazing with a 1 ½" long area of
wear to the lower obverse shell and drag with a
small depression to the lower reverse shell. Nice
original Prison Official's sword from a long established
collection and the first example JRB&M has offered
