"Derfflinger" Model 1735 Field Marshal
Series Dove Head Sword w/Metal Issue Tag & Felt
Storage Bag. Carl Eickhorn, stamped squirrel
holding sword TM. Gilted brass hilt fittings show
light surface wear primarily to the pommel with
much of the matte, honey gold factory gilting remaining
on the stylized oak leaf and geometric motif on
the pommel/backstrap/ferrule, flat knuckle-bow with
oak leaf embellishments and crossguard with well
detailed Wehrmacht eagle within geometric motif
border on the obverse langet. Underside of quillon
is stamped, "Ges.Gesch.". Black celluloid
over wood grip has only one small crack on the upper
reverse adjacent to the backstrap with no wear/scratches,
and is complete with tight, twisted silver, triple
wire wrap. Plated mirror finished blade measuring
33 3/8" in length grades MINT with no surface
wear/runner marks graying or nicks to cutting edge
and is complete with tan leather blade buffer pad.
Dent-free steel scabbard retains virtually 100%
of the original black enamel with only a tiny scratch
to the drag. Attached to the scabbard suspension
ring is an Eickhorn metal control tag which retains
100% of the red enamel. Paper insert remains inside
the metal tag; however the portion insert that extends
out side the tag has been lost to time. Tan felt
storage complete with draw string grades EX showing
much moth damage throughout with a tear to the lower
