Reich Army NCO/EM Sword w/Double-Etched Blade. Paul
Weyersberg, sword/wreath within double-oval TM.
Plain, unadorned nickel-plated hilt fittings show
light surface wear with some minor speckling to
the pommel, knuckle-bow and langets, but no major
lifting or damage. Black bakelite grip shows light
surface wear, but no cracks or chips and is complete
with tight triple wire wrap. Plated double-etched
blade measuring 34 ½" in length grades
EX++ showing light surface wear/runner marks with
some speckling to plating on obverse/reverse ricasso
and two faint nicks to cutting edge, but no lifting
or peeling to plating, and is complete with original
brown leather blade buffer pad. Obverse blade features
a 12 ½" long frosted panel with raised
floral motif, Stahlhelm with crossed rifles and
oak leaves, and open wing Reich eagle. Reverse blade
features a 12 ½" long frosted panel
with floral motif, Stahlhelm with crossed swords
and oak leaves, and closed wing Wehrmacht eagle.
Blade retains 100% of the frosted background finish
on the blade panels as well as the laurel leaf motif
on the blade spine. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains
approximately 70% of the original black enamel showing
uniform surface wear to both obverse and reverse.
Attached to the hilt is an original Army Officer
sword knot with gray leather strap/bullion stripes
and aluminum bullion stem and acorn. Nice double-etched
