"Wrangel" Model 1693 Field Marshal Series
Dove Head Sword. Carl Eickhorn, stamped squirrel
holding sword TM. Gilded aluminum hilt fittings
grade Near MINT showing only minor shadowing to
the protective, factory lacquer, but with 100% of
the factory gilding remaining on the highlights
and to the matte, honey gold finish in the recesses
of the heavily chiseled oak leaf pommel, backstrap,
ferrule, knuckle-bow, and crossguard with open winged
eagle (same as used on the "Blucher" Model
1710 Sword). Underside of crossguard quillon is
stamped, "Ges. Gesch". Black celluloid
grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and complete
with triple twisted silver wire wrap. Plain plated
blade measuring 29 3/8" in length grades Exc++/Near
MINT showing faint surface wear/runner marks with
two tiny nicks to lower cutting edge, but no lifting
or pitting, and is complete with tan leather blade
buffer pad. Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately
95% of the original black enamel showing light surface
wear/surface crazing, but no major loss of enamel.
Nice Wrangel sword and the first example JRB&M
