Model 1735 Field Marshal Series Dove Head Sword
w/Original Felt Storage Bag. Carl Eickhorn,
early stamped squirrel within single-oval TM. Gilded
brass hilt fittings show virtually no surface wear
to the honey gold, factory gilding pommel on the
stylized oak leaf and geometric motif on the pommel/backstrap/ferrule,
flat knuckle-bow with oak leaf embellishments and
crossguard with close-winged, Wehrmacht eagle within
geometric motif border on the obverse langet. Black
celluloid-over-wood grip shows virtually no wear
with no, nicks, scratches or hairline cracks, and
is complete with tight, twisted silver, triple wire
wrap. Polished blade measuring 31 1/8" in length
grades MINT with no surface wear/runner marks, graying
or nicks to cutting edge and is complete with black
leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free steel scabbard
retains approximately 99% of the original black
enamel with only a few tiny scratches to shell and
a few specks o missing paint to the drag. Golden
tan felt storage complete with draw string grades
EX+ showing minor moth nips and some pinhead size
moth holes, but no rips of tears. Superb Eickhorn
Field Marshal Series sword, that, in view of the
early blade and lack of the "Ges.Gesch."
stamp on the underside of the crossguard, could
be a prototype or early production example. Near
