An illustration of this pattern sword appears on page 160 of Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich, Volume II from the translation of E. Pack & Söhne catalog as Pattern Nr. 203. Gilded brass hilt shows surface wear/age patina to the highlights with much gilding remaining in the recesses of the oak leaf embellished knuckle-bow and pommel, backstrap and crossguard with cast Wehrmacht eagle on the obverse langet. Black celluloid grip shows minor surface wear with no cracks or chips and is complete with tight double twisted silver wire wrap. Plated blade measuring 33 5/8" in length grades Near MINT, showing only minor runner marks primarily to ricasso, with no lifting, graying, or nicks to cutting edge. Blade is complete with blue felt blade buffer pad. Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 95% of the original black enamel, showing light surface wear/crazing primarily to lower edge and towards the tip and drag of scabbard. Sword is complete with Officer pattern sword knot with bullion acorn. The ULTRA-RARE original red fabric storage bag is stamped in black letters, "Blanke Waffen dans Ernst Pack & Söhne, G.m.b.H., Solingen" and with Siegfried logo.
