Long KS/98 Bayonet w/Rare Single-Etched Blade. E. Pack & Söhne (Siegfried Waffen) TM. This bayonet, recently obtained in Austria, is complete w/frog & portepee. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear/age crazing w/some loss of plating to edges of pommel & crossguard. Pommel slot is complete w/original red felt plug. Black bakelite grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips & correct Pack style offset retaining screws. Plated blade grades excellent++ w/minor surface wear/runner marks, and is complete with original brown leather blade buffer pad. Etch pattern appears in the E. Pack catalog as Nr. 6 - "Infanterie" with oak leaves, service time inscription & soldier with rifle/machine gun pistol. Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 90% of its original black enamel, showing light surface wear/crazing. Complete with black leather patent leather frog showing much age crazing and dulling to the patent leather finish. Attached to the frog is the original portepee with yellow/white/yellow slide, stem, crown color combination for 3rd Company. Nice original bayonet complete w/all accouterments.
