     Short Third Reich Municipal Police Bayonet. Carl Eickhorn, stamped squirrel holding sword TM. An example of this pattern short Police bayonet appears in the Eickhorn Kundendienst sales catalog as "Extra=Seitengewehr für die Deutsche Polizei Nr. 1320" (Special Bayonet for the German Police Nr. 1320). Plated aluminum hilt fittings show light crazing/lifting to plating on spine/pommel with factory frosting remaining in the feathers of the eagle head pommel and to the oak leaf embellished crossguard. Dark brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips and with aluminum Police pattern eagle properly pinned to the obverse grip plate. Plated blade measuring 24.7cm in length grades Near MINT showing only light surface wear/runner marks to the flats of the blade with no lifting, pitting or nicks to cutting edge. Blade is complete with black leather blade buffer pad. Black leather scabbard shows minor surface wear with a few faint nicks but no rips, tears or damage to the reverse stitching. Dent-free nickel-plated upper and lower fittings show minor surface wear with no lifting or crazing and are complete with retaining staples.
