Long Slotted Third Reich Municipal Police Bayonet w/Frog. E.& F. Hörster, Solingen, stamped sword within "H" double-oval TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show excellent detail to the eagle head pommel and oak leaf embellished crossguard with surface wear to highlights and spots of lifting to plating upper pommel, spine and reverse crossguard. Pommel slot is complete with green felt plug and reverse crossguard is unmarked. Dark brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips, and with Third Reich Police grip emblem properly pinned to the obverse plate. Plated blade measuring 33cm in length grades EX+/EX++ with light runner marks/surface wear and a tiny spot of lifting to blade tip, but no nicks to cutting edge. Blade is unmarked, but complete with black leather blade buffer pad. Black leather scabbard shows light surface wear, but no creases, rips or tears, and no damage to the reverse stitching. Dent-free. nickel-plated scabbard fittings show light surface wear, but no loss of plating or damage to the lower ball, and are complete with both retaining staples. Upper scabbard fitting is unmarked. Black leather, double-stitched frog shows light wear/age, but no rips or tears and no damage to stitching. EX+/EX++ (25328) $845.
