Reich Municipal Police Bayonet w/Double-TM.
Weyersberg Kirchbaum & Cie Solingen, 3-line
inscription & knight's helmet double-TM. Nickel-plated
hilt fittings show superb detail to eagle head pommel
and oak leaf embellished crossguard with surface
wear/minor lifting to plating primarily to forward
edge of pommel. Reverse crossguard is unmarked.
Light honey gold stag horn grip plates are perfect
with no cracks, chips or age, and are complete with
Third Reich Police Eagle emblem properly pinned
to the obverse plate. Grip plates show evidence
of being cut down during refurbishing as there are
vestiges of the the lower rivet holes adjacent to
crossguard. Plated blade measuring 32.3cm in length
grades EX+/EX++ showing light surface wear/runner
marks and some eviedence of polishing towards tip
where blade was shortened during the 1936/1937 time-frame.
Spine of blade is Waffen-Amt marked and numbered
"364". Blade is complete with black leather
blade buffer pad. Black leather scabbard shows minor
surface wear with one light crease approximately
1" above the lower scabbard fitting, but no
rips, tears or damage to the reverse stitching.
Nickel scabbard fittings show minor surface wear
with two faint depressions to lower fitting, but
no damage to the lower ball, and are complete with
both retaining staples. Reverse upper scabbard fitting
is stamped, "S. B. 10186." (Municipal
Police property, administrative district Berlin,
weapon number 10186" with the scabbard throat
numbered "364" matching the blade.
