Long Slotted Saw-Tooth Third Reich Police Bayonet w/frog. No Maker. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show excellent detail to the eagle head pommel and oak leaf embellished crossguard with loss of plating to bayonet catch and stud. The reverse crossguard is stamped "S. Sch II. 163" (Schutzpolize/Police Property). Medium brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips, and with zinc Third Reich Police grip emblem properly pinned to the obverse plate. Grip plates show evidence of being cut down during refurbishing as portions of the original lower rivet holes remain on both the obverse and reverse plates filled with brown paste. Saw-Tooth plated blade grades EX+ with runner marks/surface wear, very light gray speckling to the obverse/reverse and is complete with black leather buffer pad. Black enamaled scabbard shows much surface wear and rust. Black leather, double-stitched, four-rivet frog grades EX showing wear/age but, no rips or tears and no damage to stitching. EX (27364) $775.
