SG 42 Tool Bayonet. Ricasso
marked "cof" and waffenamt "WaA 519"
(Eickhorn). Pressed steel hilt and Bakelite grip
plates show almost no wear and grade EX++/Near Mint.
Grip houses a removable tool set consisting of a
corkscrew, awl, can opener, and screwdriver blades
and grades Mint and is properly marked "Itk"
which is the three letter code for Robert Klaas.
Bakelite scabbard with integral metal belt clip
attached to scabbard throat grades mint with NO
wear what-so-ever. Blade grades EX++ with light
runner marks and some light sharpening to cutting
edge. The rarest combat bayonet of the Third Reich
and an item we have not had for sale in many, many
years. Identical to the specimen pictured on page
26 of "Seitengewehr: History of the German
Bayonet 1919 - 1945" by George T. Wheeler.
