Short KS/98 Bayonet w/Distributor Marked Blade & RARE SS/RZM Marked Frog. Sword within "H" (E.& F. Hörster) stamped TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show light surface with no crazing and only one speck on inside edge of pommel slot which is complete with original red felt plug. Black bakelite grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips. Plated blade measuring 20cm in length grades EX+ showing light surface wear/runner marks with minor shadowing on reverse near tip and on lower spine and nicks primarily to lower cutting edge. Blade is complete with dark brown leather blade buffer pad and with reverse ricasso is distributor marked, "Hans Grunwald Magdeburg Kastr. 7" in a three line inscription. Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 98% of the original black enamel finish with wear primarily to the lower ball. Bayonet is complete with black leather, double stitched frog in EX++ condition with reverse frog stamped, "SS 1/33 RZM". Nice short Hörster example with RARE SS/RZM marked frog. EX+/EX++ (23737) $695.
