Ornate Imperial Fire Axe w/Hanger. No maker. Double- engraved, nickel-plated axe head shows light surface wear to the oak leaves, fire helmet and fire axes. Black wooden handle is ornately carved on the lower half with oak leaves and checkering. Upper handle features presentation plates on both obverse and reverse. One plate is engraved, "Ihrem Langjahrigen Zugführer Hermann Winkelmann Auerbach Den 12.9.1909". Other plate is engraved, "Gewidmet Vom Steigerzug". Lower handle has nickel- plated end cap featuring etched ferrule and engraved pattern. Fittings show only light surface wear. Dagger is complete with double-strap, black hanger showing wear to leather and some minor lifting to nickel-plated fittings. Beautiful presentation dagger with hangers.
