Imperial Fire Official Dagger. A. C. (Alexander
Coppel) stamped TM. Solid nickel hilt fittings show
light surface wear/yellow age patina to the wave/flaming
ball pommel and crossguard with "clover-leaf"
style quillons and raised motif of crossed fire
axes and fire helmet on the obverse quillon block.
Black bakelite/celluloid grip shows minor surface
wear, but no cracks or chips and is complete with
tight twisted wire wrap. Plated, double-etched,
blade measuring 13 ¼" in length grades
Exc/Exc+ showing light surface wear and some gray
speckling, but no nicks to cutting edges and is
complete with dark red felt blade buffer pad. Both
obverse and reverse blade feature 9" long,
lightly etched panels with floral design flanking
a central motif of fire helmet, ladder, axe, hose
and spike. Black leather scabbard shows light surface
wear an a few scuffs, but no rips or tears and no
damage to reverse stitching. Upper and lower nickel
fittings show light surface wear/yellow age patina
with a few faint surface depressions to reverse
upper/lower fittings, but no damage to lower ball,
and are complete with retaining staples. Suspension
eyelets/rings appear to be constructed of silver-plated
brass with wear to plating. Nice Alexander Coppel
