Miniature KS/98 Bayonet w/Advertising Logo. No Maker. This well detailed example, measuring 9 3/8" in overall length was recently obtained from a long established Virginia collection. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear with minor speckling to the plating on the obverse crossguard. Black bakelite grip plates shoe light surface with a nick to the obverse and reverse front edge adjacent to the hilt spine. Plated blade measuring 5 ½" in length grades Ex/Ex" showing light surface wear with some minor speckling adjacent to crossguard, but no damage to cutting edge. Obverse blade is stamped with the advertising logo "Siegen-Solingen Gusstahl-Aktien-Verein Solingen". Steel scabbard retains approximately 95% of the original black enamel showing wear primarily to the lower ball with one small depression to the upper reverse. Attached to the hilt is an original miniature bayonet knot with white fabric strap with two blue stripes and yellow slide/crown. Nice original example. Exc/Exc+ (26467) $285.
