Miniature Deluxe Hunting Hirschfanger. No maker. Although unmarked, the fittings on this example recently obtained in Germany match exactly Alcoso marked miniature deluxe Hirschfangers. Silver-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina to the deluxe oak leaf embellished pommel and crossguard, and clamshell with stag and doe motif. Off-white, toned staghorn grip shows light surface wear with no cracks or chips. Plain plated blade measuring 5 ½" in length grades excellent+, showing light surface wear/runner marks with a few specks of crazing approximately 1" from the tip of blade. Blade is complete with original green felt blade buffer pad with reverse ricasso stamped, "Solingen". Green leatherette scabbard shows overall light surface wear with one rip across the reverse approximately 5/8" above the upper edge of the lower scabbard fitting. Silver-plated scabbard fittings show light surface wear/age patina with no dents, depressions, or damage. Obverse lower fitting features a detailed hunting scene of a stag in forest setting, and upper fitting was manufactured without a suspension lug.
