This salesman sample miniature measures approximately 9 ½" in overall length and is complete with miniature bayonet (white/yellow/white, 9th Company) portepee. Silver-plated hilt fittings show light surface/age patina with excellent detail to pommel, crossguard and ferrule with some crazing to the plating on the reverse crossguard. Reverse crossguard is personalized with the monogram, "LSH" in stylized, jeweler engraved letters. Dark orange celluloid gripisa perfect with dark aging in the recesses of the swirls, but no chips or cracks. Plated blade grades Exc/Exc++ showing light surface wear/runner marks and some minor lifting with, but no pitting or nicks to the cutting edges. Obverse, flat of blade is jeweler engraved with the name, "W.JANSSEN Bad Kleinen". Bad Kleinen is located approximately 50km northeast of Berlin on the shore of the Schweriner See. Blade is complete with red felt blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows light surface wear/age patina with superb detail to the pebbling and oak leaf suspension bands.
