Silver-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina/speckling to the well-detailed oak leaf pommel with swastika and crossguard. Light yellow, solid celluloid grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and is complete with tight twisted wire wrap. Plated blade grades Excx++ showing light surface wear/runner marks, but no gray speckling or nicks to cutting edges. Tip of blade has been professionally shortened and rounded approximately ¼", to apparently use as a letter opener, and is complete with blue felt blade buffer pad. Obverse upper blade is jeweler-engraved with the advertising logo in gold-filled letters, "Auto - Licht - Ges. Stendal" (Automobile - Light - Protected, Stendal). Stendal is located approximately 100km West of Berlin and was the home of the Luftwaffe Parachutist School. Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows light surface wear/ age patina/speckling with dark age patina with excellent detail to the pebbling, lower oak leaf motif, as well as double scabbard bands.
