Miniature Luftwaffe Sword on Propeller Base. Alcoso (ACS, scales) TM. This large-size miniature has had both obverse and reverse pommel and crossguard swastikas ground away, and is priced accordingly. Silver-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear and some gray patina, with very little damage to areas adjacent to removed swastikas. Blue leather grip shows light surface wear with no rips or tears, and with tight twisted wire wrap intact. Plated blade grades excellent, showing light surface wear/runner marks, and some light graying overall. Dent-free leather scabbard shows minor surface wear with no rips or tears. Silver-plated scabbard fittings show surface wear and dark age patina, with one scabbard ring missing. Sword is mounted on an anodized propeller base, which shows light wear and retains blue felt backing on bottom of base. With the addition of pommel and crossguard swastikas, this miniature sword would easily be worth between $1,200 and $1,300. Exc. (18547) $695.
