Personalized Third Reich Lion Head Cavalry Kinder
Sword. No Maker. Although unmarked, this perfectly-
detailed Kinder Säbel recently obtained in
Germany, closely resembles the Carl Eickhorn Model
Nr. 1324 sword pictured in both the Eickhorn Kundendienst
and on page 76, lower of Swords of Germany 1900/1945
by LTC John R. Angolia. Gilted brsss hilt fittings
show light surface wear to highlights with virtually
100% of the gilting remaining on the lion head pommel
with red painted eyes, oak leaf embellished backstrap,
upper knuckle-bow, lion head quillon with red painted
eyes and crossguard with crossed swords within laurel
leaf wreath on the obverse langet. Reverse langet
is personalized with the stamped initials, "HB"
which have been over-scratched with the initials,
"PV". Black celluloid grip is perfect
with no cracks or chips and is complete with twisted,
brass wire wrap. Plain, plated, curved blade grades
measuring 21 ¼" in length, EX++ showing
minor surface wear/runner marks with no lifting,
graying or nicks to cutting edge. Tip of blade is
rounded as is normal for Kinder swords and
reverse lower blade is lightly scratched with the
initials, "P.V". Blade is complete with
red felt blade buffer pad. Dent-free, nickel-plated
scabbard grades EX++ showing minor surface wear,
but no lifting or damage to plating. Upper obverse
scabbard is personalized with the matching initials,
