Personalized Royal Hungarian Fire Brigade Dagger.Hungarian Crest, (Meszaros Lajus, Budapes) TM. A photograph of this pattern Royal Hungarian Fire Brigade dagger can be found on page 135 of World Of Dress Daggers 1900 - 1945, Volume I by Robert Berger. The brass hilt fittings show minor wear to the highlights of the Fire helmet style pommel, fluted metal grip and crossguard with floral pattern quillons and obverse quillon block featuring an enameled Hungarian crest superimposed on a large fire bomb over crossed fire axes. The reverse crossguard features a large push button to activate the scabbard release spring. The nickel-plated, double edged, diamond cross section blade grades EX+ showing light surface wear/runner marks and a few gray specks to plating, but no nicks to cutting edges. The dent-free, brass scabbard shows minor surface wear/age patina with two suspension bands featuring a fire axe over crossed torches with two side-mounted rings on the upper band. The lower portion of the scabbard features a vertical fluted design. The scabbard is personalized with the name, "T. Antek" in script letters between the suspension bands. Nice personalized example.
