M-1939 Royal Yugoslav Army Dagger.
Oficirska Zadruga in Cyrillic letters (Officer's
Cooperative) TM. An example of this RARE dagger
can be found on page 53 of Kurt Glemser's A Guide
to Military Dress Daggers, Volume I, and also on
page 263 of World of Dress Daggers 1900 - 1945,
Volume I, by Robert J. Berger. Stylized brass crown
pattern pommel and "S" form crossguard
show light surface wear to the copper/bronze-colored
flashing/wash. Dark brown leather covered grip shows
light surface wear and minor loss of color, but
no rips or tears, and is complete with tight twisted
silver wire wrap. Plated, double-edged, diamond
x-section blade grades EX+ showing light surface
wear/runner marks with wear to plating on center
ridge, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges.
Obverse ricasso is deeply etched with the Royal
Yugoslav double-headed eagle/crown crest, and blade
is complete with brown leather buffer pad. Dent-free,
metal scabbard shell with heavily embossed oak leaf
pattern retains 100% of the dark copper flashing.
Upper, center, and lower brass scabbard fittings
show surface wear to the dark copper/bronze-colored
flashing with surface depressions to the obverse/reverse
lower fitting. The fittings are complete with six
headless retaining screws. Pinned to the obverse
upper scabbard fitting is a silver-colored Royal
Yugoslav crest. Nice Royal Yugoslav Army Dagger
recently obtained from an advanced collection. EX+
