Czechoslovak Air Force Dagger w/Hangers.
No maker. An example of this dagger can be found
on page 79 of World of Dress Daggers 1900 -1945
by Robert J. Berger. Gilt finished hilt fittings
show surface wear with dark age patina to the square-shaped
pommel and to the upturned crossguard with obverse
and reverse center crossguard having a raised lion
of Bohemia. Off-white imitation ivory grip plates
show light surface wear/age with one small area
of chipping on the upper edge of the reverse plate.
Plated blade grades excellent+/excellent++ with
light runner marks to the lower half of the double-edged
diamond cross-section blade with some minor scratching
to the obverse and reverse ricasso. Dent-free steel
scabbard is covered in smooth brown leather which
shows none of the normally encountered shrinkage
nor loss of the hard surface finish. Upper, center,
and lower gilt fittings show light surface wear
with dark age patina. Dagger is complete with a
set of variation double strap detachable hangers
with rectangular buckles with pearl bands. Hangers
can be attached to the stationary scabbard suspension
rings by means of small buckles on the reverse of
