Over
the past few years, we have seen an increasing interest
by collectors in the edged weapons of the Axis powers,
some of the neutral states and the post-war powers.
Until the recent reference works by Kurt Glemser and
Robert Berger, little information was available to
the collector. We anticipate this to be a high growth
area in collecting and are making every effort to
obtain such quality edged weapons. Many of these scarce
and rare items can still be obtained at a moderate
cost. We consider this a prime investment area for
the future.

Yugoslav M-1937 Air Force Dagger w/Portepee.
No maker. This pattern dagger is illustrated and described
on pages 149 - 153 of A Guide to Military Dress Daggers,
Volume III by Kurt Glemser and pages 265 - 269 of
World of Dress Daggers 1900-1945 by Robert J. Berger.
Nickel-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear
to the stylized leaf style pommel and a few minor
specks of lifting to the plating on the crossguard
in the form of a 2-blade propeller with radial engine
quillon block. Blue leather-covered grip shows light
surface wear but no rips or tears, and is complete
with tight brass twisted wire wrap. Plain, nickel-plated,
double-etched diamond cross-section blade shows light
surface wear/runner marks, with some lifting to plating
adjacent to the crossguard, as well as a few specks
of lifting along the cutting edge, and a few faint
nicks to cutting edge. Blade is complete with dark
brown leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free blue leather-over-steel
scabbard with nickel-plated upper, center, and lower
fittings shows light surface wear, with some faint
surface depressions to leather but no rips or tears,
and bears a strong resemblance to the 1st Model Luftwaffe
dagger scabbard complete with two suspension rings.
Obverse upper fitting features a gilt facsimile of
the Yugoslav Pilot's badge with crown, eagle, and
Yugoslav crest. Attached to the dagger is a rare Yugoslav
Air Force Officer's silver bullion portepee featuring
red & blue flecks in the cord and stem, as well
as a red, white, and blue-flecked acorn insert. Nice
original example with rare portepee! Exc/Exc+ (21081)
$1,450.

Eickhorn Export Swords |
| Listed
below are some of the original Carl Eickhorn export
swords from their 1930s Showroom. These are the same
swords that were seen in the showroom in the photographs
taken during the 1930s and remained there until they
were removed in the late 1950s by an Eickhorn swordsmith.
A picture of this Showroom can be found on page 194
of my Volume I of "Collecting the Edged Weapons of the
Third Reich". These swords all appear in the 1930s export
catalogs that were used by the Eickhorn firm to sell
their swords to other governments. Two of the swords
have the original Eickhorn muster (sample model number)
stamped on the blade. They also have an original price
tag; although it does not have Eickhorn on the tag,
it does list the Eickhorn model number (these same tags
are visible in the referenced photograph). RARE opportunity
to own a MINT example of an export sword from the original
Carl Eickhorn Showroom. Museum quality! |
