Beautiful, ultra-RARE blond wood Fire axe has the presentation plate present, but is not engraved. Has the beautiful engraved head which has a dark burnishing to the background. The engraved portion of the head is in a floral motif. The center of the head is engraved with helmet and Fire axe. Bottom of shaft has the round nickel- silver ball and nickel sleeve attached to the Fire axe. This piece is equipped with a most unusual and RARE axe hanger which is shaped with a Y-loop that goes around the shaft. Has an additional strap coming from the top and passes over the pommel nut. The strap passes through a roller buckle and can be tightened. There is an additional clip for attaching to a belt loop. Hanger does show age and some "crazing", but is 100% original to the piece. This is only the second time I have encountered this type of hanger. Beautiful and RARE axe!
