Our toll-free ORDER No: (800-851-2665) is manned from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST Monday – Friday. Feel free to take advantage of this toll-free number when placing orders. SHOULD YOU DESIRE TO CONTACT TOM OR A MEMBER OF OUR STAFF PERSONALLY, we can be reached at (540) 373-9150 or (540) 371-2665. These two telephone numbers should be used when not placing an order, as our toll-free number is reserved for CUSTOMER ORDERS ONLY. For your convenience, you may place a recorded message/order 24 hours a day at (540) 373-9150. Include your full name and address, along with the item(s) you wish to purchase, and we will acknowledge your order via letter or email. JRB&M has the capability of receiving/sending printed matter including text, diagrams, sketches, etc. via FAX or email. Our JRB&M dedicated FAX number is: (540) 373-0087. FAX communication is tailor-made for placing credit card orders, book orders and/or placing specific items on our current list “on hold”. This FAX number is also available to our overseas customers by dialing the respective country code for the United States, followed by (540) 373-0087. FAX will totally eliminate the long delays experienced by using the International Postal Service! You can also send images and receive images via e-mail.
We strive to offer our customers only the “upper-end” condition artifacts; i.e., items in Near MINT condition or those pieces that are so rare or unusual that quality becomes less important and is compromised. We are delighted to have you as a friend and a customer, and if there is any way that we can help your collecting pursuits, please be sure to let us know. In return, if you have friends who do not know about our catalogs and service, would you please be so kind and send us their names and addresses? If any collectible ordered from this catalog does not fully meet your expectations, by all means return it to us! You will receive a prompt refund or exchange, whichever you prefer.
All items purchased via credit card MUST be refunded via a credit to the same account, unless you wish to establish a credit with JRB&M for future purchases. NOTE: Should you decide to return merchandise, WE MUST BE NOTIFIED WITHIN THREE (3) DAYS AFTER YOU RECEIVE YOUR ORDER. ALL RETURNED ITEMS MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE SAME CONDITION IN WHICH THEY WERE SENT. Cleaning of edged weapons, disassembly and any damage occurred during disassembly, or removal of accouterments may void your return privilege. Books can only be returned in the case of damage or misprint. Please note that the return of consignment items MUST BE MADE WITHIN THE SPECIFIED 3-DAY return privilege limit, as the consignor is paid by JRB&M at that time.
All merchandise is subject to prior sale, and all prices are subject to change without notice. Payment for purchases may be in the form of personal check, money order or cashier’s check, PayPal, or any of the following major credit cards: American Express, Discover, VISA and Mastercard. THE MINIMUM CREDIT CARD CHARGE IS $10.00. NOTE: the service charge for returned checks is $50.00. Payment from foreign countries should be via credit card, International money order, a check in U.S. Dollars with a Federal Reserve routing number, a German check in Deutsche Marks (DMs), or a telegraphic transfer into our account. For additional information, please call Johnson Reference Books & Militaria at (540) 373-9150.
JRB&M prefers to use United Parcel Service (UPS) for all domestic shipments of books and edged weapons, and USPS Flat Rate for parts and accouterments. UPS shipping charges will vary depending on package weight and destination. A quote will be provided to you at the time of sale. We send all of our packages with a declared value and signature confirmation unless you request otherwise.
JRB&M prefers to use the United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority for all international shipments of books, edged weapons, parts, and accouterments. Shipping charges will vary depending on package weight, destination, and ship time unless a flat rate option is offered. Current USPS shipping regulations requires ALL packages to include a Customs declaration and an invoice with an additional USPS Insurance Form 3813-P for insured shipments. Customers should advise JRB&M how the package is to be shipped (Priority or Express), declared Customs value and, if applicable, amount of insurance ($250 minimum for edged weapons).
THE CUSTOMS VALUE DECLARATION, INVOICE AMOUNT and INSURED VALUE MUST BE THE SAME, and the CUSTOMER is RESPONSIBLE in case of loss or damage for ANY UNINSURED AMOUNT.
Due to pressing business demands, we can no longer conduct research for collectors. However, we can recommend a person who does it professionally:
Mr. Robert E. McDivitt
Military Research Services
205 San Juan Court
Williamstown, NJ 08094-3021
Rob is a professional Librarian and can be reached from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EST at (856) 875-6114. e-mail: email@example.com
Layaway arrangements may be made by enclosing 1/3 down with the initial order and remitting the remaining balance within 90 days. Arrangements for a longer pay-off period require specific clearance with LTC (Ret.) Johnson. PLEASE NOTE: Any item on layaway for more than 60 days will be subject to a 10% listing price restocking charge if released from hold. A minimum charge per item will be $5.00, with a maximum charge not to exceed $2000.00. Please order by item number. Feel free to list alternate choices, as many items are one-of-a-kind and may have already been sold by the time your letter, FAX or phone call arrives.
All figures and comments herein on investment potential are provided based on past performances of similar items and JRB&M’s experience in the edged weapon field; they in no way constitute a guarantee of future increases in value. In the opinion of this firm, when purchased for investment purposes, edged weapons should, like any other collectible, be considered a long-term investment. Experts recommend retention of at least 4-5 years, and preferably 5-10 years.
Are You Interested in Selling Your Collection?
We are always looking to purchase either single daggers or complete collections. Please keep us advised of what you may have available. Describe your sale item(s) thoroughly, including condition and desired price. Should you have access to a camera, a close-up photo of the item(s) would greatly assist our staff in determining whether or not we have an interest in purchasing the item(s). Digital pictures may be sent via e-mail.
Unfortunately, JRB&M has been receiving too many unsolicited items for consignment. The only ones that will be accepted are THOSE PREVIOUSLY APPROVED PERSONALLY BY LTC (Ret.) THOMAS M. JOHNSON.
Availability and Originality
Our list provides an outstanding array of original, quality edged weapons, accouterments and parts. It is the result of numerous veteran and collector purchases. We continue to ferret out some remaining original parts in Europe. PLEASE NOTE: The items offered by JRB&M are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. We realize it will be impossible to satisfy all of our customers and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and apologize if an item has been previously sold. All edged weapons offered are original in all respects unless stated otherwise, i.e., we are not offering to our customers any refurbished, revamped and/or “restored” edged weapons. If a dagger or sword makes our list which has a recovered leather scabbard or any replaced part(s), it certainly will be so noted in both the description and the price. In our view, fair is fair.
Here are a few words of advice: “Don’t delay. Order at once!” The combination of our reasonable prices and outstanding service ensures another JRB&M sell-out list. Good hunting, for both pleasure and treasure!
