CARL EICKHORN, SOLINGEN smooth tail squirrel within small double-oval etched TM.  This textbook example Himmler Honor dagger features early nickel-silver pommel nut and crossguards showing only light surface wear/age with the underside of the lower crossguard stamped with the bench number “4”. Both upper and lower crossguards are internally marked “H” and “E”, the most frequent internal markings seen on the Himmler daggers. Early ebony grip shows light surface wear with very minor surface chipping adjacent to the upper crossguard. Grip features perfect early quality grip-to-crossguard fit, and is complete with nickel-silver eagle and SS insert properly inset. Mirror polished blade grades EX++/Near MINT showing light runner marks and no shadowing, pitting or nicks to cutting edges. Crisp, deeply etched SS motto and Himmler inscription retain 100% of the light gray background frosting. Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 98% of the original black anodization with minor speckling to reverse and one spot of speckling to the obverse shell.  Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show light surface wear and no depressions or damage to the lower ball and reflect the correct golden hue associated with the higher quality nickel–silver associated with Himmler Honor Daggers. EX++/Near MINT (28769)
