CARL EICKHORN, SOLINGEN etched squirrel holding sword TM. Aluminum hilt fittings show light surface wear with portions of factory gray finish remaining in the recesses of the well detailed pommel with pebbled background and three distinctive capped acorns, all pointing upward, and crossguard with relief-style oak leaves featuring right leaf over left leaf motif on the upper surface of the quillons. Pommel swastikas appear to have never been gilded. Medium yellow celluloid grip is shows light surface wear with no chips or cracks and tight springy aluminum wire wrap. Polished blade grades EX+ showing surface wear/runner marks primarily where runners have rested against flats of blade, with some gray speckling and some small “pecks” to the center obverse, right edge. Blade is complete with brown pebbled leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains portions of the original factory gray finish with one “rubbed” spot” to lower lower obverse shell. Scabbard throat is the thicker variety usually found on Eickhorn examples and retained by two unturned, headless screws complete with well-detailed Eickhorn pattern suspension bands. EX++ (28230)
