No maker. A photograph of this sword can be found on page 64, upper left, of Swords of Germany 1900/1945 by John R. Angolia listed as Alcoso model, unattributed. Gilted brass oak leaf embellished hilt fittings and crossguard with eagle with outstretched wings langet show dark age patina and minor surface wear. Black celluloid grip is perfect with no cracks or chips and has its double twisted wire wrap intact. Plated blade shows light surface wear and some minor graying and lifting on lower half of blade. Double etched blade features a floral pattern on the obverse and reverse with a presentation panel on the obverse indicating the sword was presented to the Commander of the Third Company Infantry Replacement Training Battalion 354. Has its brown leather blade buffer pad present. Dent-free scabbard retains 95% of its original black enamel showing only light surface wear. Sword is complete with over-the-shoulder fabric hanger.
