Description

SOLD

Carl Eickhorn, serrated tail squirrel within a small double-oval TM. Silver-plated hilt fittings show minor wear/age patina to the oak leaf embellished pommel, ferrule, and “generic” crossguard with the step-down curve in the eagle brow area. Medium orange solid celluloid grip shows only light surface wear with no cracks or chips. Nickel-plated, double-etched blade grades EX+ showing light surface wear and runner marks, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges.  Blade is complete with dark brown leather buffer pad.  Obverse blade features floral pattern central Army style eagle etch with sharp, forty-five degree angled, straight-lined wing tips with oak leaf sprigs under each wing. Reverse blade features floral etch pattern.  Silver-plated scabbard shows light age patina throughout with two surface depressions on both obverse and reverse. When the dagger is unsheathed, the scabbard rattles as if an internal component is loose. Aluminum bullion portepee grades VG+/EX showing light age and some fraying to cord, but no damage to acorn. A RARE, double-etched Army Officer dagger in nice condition!
