$7,995.00

No maker with tang marked “ECHT DAMAST”. This high-quality dirk features many custom, extra cost features: a distinctively shaped ivory grip with a most unusual and elegant double wire-wrap and a stunning Damascus blade. Gilded brass hilt fittings show light wear/age patina to highlights of eagle/swastika pommel, fouled anchor crossguard and quillon block. The fittings appear to be those of F.W.Holler and clearly represent a dagger custom ordered from this firm. Beautiful Ivory grip shows minor surface wear and age lines/discoloration with unique, silver double wire-wrap.  “Rose-bud” damasacus blade grades EX++/Near MINT showing almost no wear/runner marks and no nicks to the cutting edges.  Tang has a light coat of rust and Damascus pattern extends along the length of the tang to the threads. Gilded brass, lightening bolt scabbard shows only light wear with obverse featuring an Admiral’s standard engraved between the scabbard bands. This exact specimen is pictured on page 370 of Thomas T. Wittmann’s Collecting The Dress Daggers of the German Navy. EX++ (28601) CONSIGNMENT
