Crossed keys above F.Herder A.S. Solingen TM. Nickel silver fittings show minor surface wear/age patina with reverse lower crossguard group marked “Nrh” (Niederrhein). Dark-brown, fine grained wooden grip, with early quality grip-to-crossguard fit, shows light surface wear with a chip on the lower left upper center adjacent to crossguards, bu no hairline cracks, and with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. Early, mirror polished blade grades EX+/EX++ showing light runner marks, minor gray shadowing on lower obverse and one miniscule “nick” to right cutting edge, but no pitting. Deeply etched motto retains 100% of the light gray background frosting. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately 95% of the original brown anodization with minor wear/scratches primarily to obverse/reverse shell with much factory lacquer remaining. Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show light surface wear/age patina with two tiny depressions to obverse lower fitting, but no damage to lower ball or to retaining screws. EX+.
