CARL JUL. KREBS, SOLINGEN with stylized “K” and crown in double oval etched TM. This maker is rated as a “7” on the rarity scale in both Ralph Siegert’s SA book and the “McSarr” listing. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show uncleaned surface wear/age patina with reverse lower crossguard group-marked “B” for Berlin-Brandenburg. Medium-red brown, broad-grained wooden grip shows some surface wear and indentations, but no chips or cracks and with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. Uncleaned blade grades EX++ showing surface wear/runner marks with no nicks or cuts to the cutting edge. Deeply etched motto has lost most of its background frosting Dent-free, steel scabbard has been stripped of its original brown paint. Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show some surface wear, with two small dents to lower scabbard fitting.
