No maker. Gilded brass hilt fittings show light surface wear to hilt/spine, knuckle-bow/crossguard, deer hoof quillon and to the clamshell. Beautifully toned stag grip grades MINT and features three gilded acorn emblems with oak leaves to obverse.  Plated double-etched, “stepped” blade grades EX++ with only faint runner marks and a few spots of minor speckling. Blade features scenes of Auerhahns, stag and doe, hunting dogs, boar and hunter in forest setting.  Black leather crease-free scabbard shows almost no wear and no rips, tears or damage to reverse stitching and grades near MINT. Upper and lower brass fittings show only light surface wear with upper fitting featuring a six-line engraved dedication: “DEM BESTEN, SCHUTZEN, FELDWEBEL DLUGOSCH, VON OPPELN, HAUPTM. U. COMP. CHEF 1901”; To the best marksman, sergeant Dlugosch, von Oppeln, Captain and Company Commander, 1901. Scabbard is missing its skinning knife.
