"Grosser" Imperial Lion Head Artillery Sword w/Etched Blade (#27761)

No maker but, distributor marked on spine: F. DAMASCHKE HOFLIEFERANT. Gilded brass hilt fittings show light surface wear to the heavily chiseled lion head pommel with red glass eyes and backstrap with raised floral motifs running the entire length. Crossguard with lion head quillon features a heavily chiseled obverse langet with crossed cannon barrels pinned on a shield. Reverse langet features a blank shield. Black faded sharkskin grip shows light surface wear with no rips or tears and is complete with tight twisted triple brass wire wrap. Both obverse and reverse blade features etched floral “spoils of war” to the reverse and Prussian Eagle with crown to the obverse center panel. Blade grades EX+ and shows light runner marks with minor speckling to obverse and reverse and does not have buffer pad. Brushed nickel-plated scabbard with two brass suspension bands/rings grades excellent showing light surface wear with no depressions and only minor speckling/lifting to plating on lower portion of scabbard and drag. EX+/EX++.
