Hilt marked SM/1940. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show almost no surface wear with no crazing/speckling or lifting with none of the normally found missing plating where grip strap has rubbed the obverse pommel. Black bakelite grip plates are perfect with undamaged HJ emblem properly inset into obverse grip plate. Polished blade grades EX++/near MINT showing light surface wear/runner marks. Dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 90% of original black enamel paint, with the majority missing from the tip of the scabbard. Scabbard is complete with black leather hanger/belt loop grip strap which is stamped on the reverse with “LFS” with an oakleaf.
