This sword, circa 1890-1900, is a rare item and is seldom seen on the market. Brass hilt fittings show light surface wear and the ornate clamshell features the Imperial Prussian Crown over a Winged Wheel. The grip is silver twisted-wire wrapped. The plated double-etched blade, measuring 32.5 inches in length, grades EX- showing light surface wear with a few areas of gray speckling, but no nicks to the cutting edges. It is complete with its original white felt buffer pad. Delicate black leather scabbard shows some surface wear with the scabbard fittings retained by staples. The lower scabbard fitting shows two minor ‘dings’ on the obverse side. Attached to the hilt is the original gold sword knot. Overall a very rare sword in very nice original condition.
