No maker mark. Measuring 23 ¾ inches from top of the hilt to tip of the blade, this very rare kinder sword is in practically MINT condition! The gilded brass hilt fittings grade EX++ showing very minor surface wear to highlights with muted gold factory gilding remaining in the recesses of the heavily chiseled lion head pommel, backstrap, and knuckle-bow with superbly detailed oak leaves and crossguard with lion head quillon and stippling. The obverse langet features raised, crossed sabers with a wreath on a stippled background while the reverse langet features a coat-of-arms shield surrounded by laurel on a stippled background. The celluloid grip shows no wear and is complete with tight twisted brass wire wrap. Plated and mirror-finished blade grades EX++ showing only light surface wear and a slight chip to the blade tip, but no lifting, pitting or graying, and is complete with original brown ivory buffer pad. Plated scabbard also grades near MINT showing light surface wear throughout. This kinder sword is complete with very rare original portepee in mint condition to match the condition of the sword itself. A very rare and exciting find for any sword collector!
