WKC with knight’s head TM. This ultra-rare clamshell bayonet came directly from East Germany. It is in museum-quality condition, and is the extremely long model as shown on pages 86 and 87 of the Weinand and Walker clamshell bayonet book. It maintains all of its original nickel finish. Blade is bright and grades near MINT. Brown leather scabbard and brown leather matching frog are also near MINT. Frog is stamped on the back “A. Fischer, Berlin 2. 1937”. No dents to scabbard fittings. It would be difficult, if not impossible, to upgrade this particularly rare bayonet. Each purchase from Tom’s personal collection will come with a signed and notarized statement of authenticity on JRB&M letterhead which would also state that the piece has been stored in Tom’s personal collection for a minimum of several decades, some as long as 55 years. This is truly a rare collecting opportunity!
